The Moat Boat Paddle Battle At Maker Faire Bay Area

We are excited to announce that the inaugural event for the Moat Boat Paddle Battle will happen May 16th and 17th at Maker Faire Bay Area! This is a chance for you to design your own rubber band powered, 3D printed paddle boat and race it against other would-be “masters of the trough”, for a chance to go home with glory AND amazing prizes from SeeMeCNC.

Contestants can compete in 3 levels of competition: Youth Closed 12 and Under, Youth Closed 13-18, and Open Class. The two youth classes will come with some restrictions (see Rules for more details), but the Open class is where the real engineers of all ages have a chance to shine!

If you are not a hardcore designer, don’t worry, we have you covered. The team at Ocean State Maker Mill has created a few sample boat designs to get you started. Download them, print them and join the race – or use them as a starting point for your own design, the choice is yours. You can find links to download them here.

For more details, be sure to check out the race Rules.

The Moat Boat Paddle Battle is brought to you by Ocean State Maker Mill, Make, and SeeMeCNC. Stay tuned here for more details and to find out about future events.
